With main focus on business opportunities for Finnish companies in the Southern African region, we will provide an overview of some of the most attractive countries on the exciting African continent. Africa is a diverse continent of 54 nations, each with its own unique political and economic landscape, making it important to approach the region with an open-minded perspective backed up with local knowledge and experience. It is the second largest continent in the world, with the second largest population that is expected to double in size by 2050, making it home to 25% of the world’s population.
The continent has seen rapid growth in its middle class, which is driving business opportunities, innovation, job creation and economic development. With the youngest population in the world, there are many opportunities for companies for business, market entry, expansion and investment. Africa’s top 5 economies include South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Algeria and Morocco which together make up half of the continent’s GDP.
Sectors such as mining, fintech, e-commerce, and agri-tech are growing, with agriculture continuing to serve as the primary foundation for many African countries. Efforts have been made to enhance farming techniques and localise the process of raw materials. This coupled with needs for investments in infrastructure, renewable and clean energy as well as health care and life sciences provide crucial conditions for economic growth.
While there continues to be significant development, Africa’s untapped potential presents many growth opportunities, making it an exciting place for investment. However, due to the unique and diverse landscape, local knowledge, experience, and perspectives are required for a successful market entry. As part of the presentation, we will share some practical insights and advice for a successful market entry.
The event is free of charge and open for everyone, but requires an advance registration here: REGISTER.
